Trims
The foundation of all hoof care is the trim. Balancing the hoof ensures not only the horse's comfort, but also that the forces from pushing off the ground don't strain the integrity of the entire horse resulting in soft tissue injuries. Barefoot trims can be a good option for many horses depending on a variety of health, life, and job factors. Regardless of if your horse is barefoot or shod, the quality and balance of the trim matters most.
Shoeing
Your horse may need front shoes or shoes all the way around, depending on a number of factors.
Here are the factors to consider:
-Sole depth & sensitivity
-Hoof wall integrity
-Durability of hoof material in relation to work load
-Terrain and or work surface
-Traction needs for performance
Orthopedics
Whether correcting bad angles, supporting soft tissue injury, recovering from acute hoof injuries, or encouraging improved sole depth for comfort, orthopedic services are available to help your horse heal.
